Cover from USA |
A postcard was sent on 1912 |
The third stamp from the left is the 40c William T. Piper airmail stamp which was issued on May 17, 1991.
The top right stamp is a painting artwork from Winslow Homer. The ninth issuance in the American Treasures series features Boys in a Pasture, an 1874 painting by Winslow Homer. The painting is part of the Hayden Collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Winslow Homer (1836-1910) is considered one of the greatest American painters of the 19th century. According to the Museum of Fine Arts, the boys in this painting—companionable, idle, at peace—may be seen as emblems of America's nostalgia for a simpler, more innocent time as well as of its hope for the future. Their faces are averted, a device Homer often used to make his figures less individual and, therefore, more universal.
The 2-cent multicolored Red-Headed Woodpecker (Scott 3032) definitive was issued on February 2, 1996, in Sarasota, Florida. Red-headed Woodpecker is a medium-sized woodpecker with black upperparts and tail, and white underparts and rump. Head, throat, and upper breast are dark red. Wings are black with large white patches. Sexes are similar. Juvenile has brown-black head, throat, and upper breast, and faintly streaked underparts.
At last, the postcard is USA 1912 1c red McKinley postal card. The postcard was posted in Texas.
